Safety switch
The enclosure of the ABB´s side controlled enclosed switches is made of rigid polycarbonate. The enclosure is UV protected, and protected against low pressure water jets (IP65), and hence built for outdoor and indoor use. The enclosure is available in different colors, grey, yellow and white. The cable entries are threaded and have knock out holes for 2 parallell cables, both from top and bottom. Membrane grommets are included (IP54). The handle is padlockable and made for one padlock. The cover is interlocked. The switch is made for 5 wire system, and have a fixed neutral terminal and PE terminal. The terminals are easily accessible for easy installation.
In accordance with the Swedish Electricity Safety Authority's Strong Current Regulations, all new installations of, for example, Air Heat Pumps or other electrical systems should be equipped with a safety switch.
C62.2 Separation The plant part on which work is to be performed shall be separated. Components that are still live after disconnection, such as capacitors and cables, must be discharged with the appropriate device. Advice: Where the power supply can be from multiple directions or when there are multiple power switches, special care is needed to prevent mistakes. Among other things, all windings need to be separated when working on the transformer. Machines' magnetization circuits and neutral points that are not directly grounded must be separated if voltage setting can take place from another plant part.
